Meet Richard and Mary

Richard – Pastor of New Grace Community Church

I was called to Ministry in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Bible and theology and ordained. I am officially married to Mary since 2010 and  we are the proud parents of three biological children and many spiritual children adopted as a result of our trauma healing program.

Since I was raised under a polygamous background, my step moms tortured me a lot.  I had deep wounds of trauma.  After being a part of the July 2022 trauma training in northern Uganda.  I found healing. I felt called to helping those victimized in and around the church community to find their healing.

We are actively and ceaselessly running trauma healing classes on a weekly basis to the traumatized mothers, youth drop outs and Covid -19 mothers and widows in the slum areas of the city. We have a Most Vulnerable Children (MVC) ministry (praying, discipling and counseling services). We also have AIDS awareness programs to the HIV victims and ongoing outreach/evangelism with regular weekly visitations.

Mary – Richard and I are a blessed couple with our biological children and many spiritual children.  We are committed to the ministry of children, youths, women and the entire vulnerable community.

I was healed of 32 years of trauma in July 2022 at the trauma training.  My father died when I was three years old and my mom died when I was six.  Life since then has been very hard.  God helped me.  Now I stand in for such people because in the training I discovered that many are dying of the same trauma that was that almost took my life.  My husband and I didn’t wait!  We immediately started straight away since we both have similar trauma stories.

We believe God will do wonders through us because since we started the trauma healing program in Jinja many have been healed and the journey has just begun.

Call to action: We ask God to provide a Trauma Healing and Empowerment Center because now we do our work in our small house and church.
