Sara’s Story

Sara is a beautiful little girl now full of life, attending school and healing. Unfortunately, this has not always been her reality. Sara lives in one of the barrios that we work in Barahona. At the age of 6, Sara witnessed her pregnant mother commit suicide in front of her. Sara had no father in the home. Sara’s older brother had to leave the home to find work for the family. We are so thankful that now Sara is living with her grandmother and attending the Jeremiah’s Hope school on Saturdays. Sara is coming back to life before our eyes. Sara was a very traumatized little girl and now she is talking, eating, learning and… her smiles are priceless.
